Dispute Resolution Involving Russian Partners
A legal seminar on "Dispute Resolution Involving Russian Parties" organized by the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS (JCC) in partnership with Schellenberg Wittmer Ltd. and the Russian Arbitration Association took place on February 11, 2016 at Schellenberg Wittmer's Zurich office.
The seminar brought together a distinguished panel of experts on dispute resolution and international Arbitration from Russia and Switzerland, respectively. Vladimir Khvalei, President, Russian Arbitration Association, Moscow; Timur Aitkulov, Partner, Clifford Chance Moscow and a board member of the Russian Arbitration Association; Anna Kozmenko, Senior Associate, Schellenberg Wittmer Zurich and Rouslan Khomiakov, Legal Counsel Sberbank (Switzerland) AG, Zurich participated in the panel ably moderated by Christopher Boog, Partner, Schellenberg Wittmer Zurich. The seminar was opened by Manuel Liatowitsch, Partner, Schellenberg Wittmer Zurich and Dorit Sallis, Managing Director, Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS (JCC).
The experts examined topics of relevance for companies doing business in Russia. They examined the choice of dispute resolution for contracts with Russian companies and availability of interim measures in Russia. Issues arising from enforcement of foreign awards in Russia and lessons learned were also analysed.
The sixty participants continued the discussion in the informal setting of the networking reception were they were able to address specific questions to individual speakers over a glass of wine.
