JCC brings Siberian Regions Novosibirsk and Tomsk to Zurich...
On May 14 and 15, 2014, JCC welcomed a delegation of business representatives from Novosibirsk and Tomsk Regions in Siberia. The delegation of business promotion representatives and companies from Siberia were in Switzerland for the Switzerland-Siberia Business Forum organized by JCC, and to learn more about opportunities for partnership in the areas of alternative energy, electrical engineering, biotechnology, light manufacturing and agribusiness.
Participants included Dr. Vyatcheslav A. Markelov, President, Novosibirsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anatoly Neverov, Head, Representative Office of Novosibirsk Region in Germany, Yuri Gurdin, Deputy Governor for Investment and Property Relations, Tomsk Region and Arkadiy Y. Eskin, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tomsk; President, Committee for Economic Policy of the Tomsk Regional Parliament. Mikhael Yakovets, General Director of the Swiss-Russian Joint Venture OJC Fischer Spindle Technology Novosibirsk, Dmitry Kolbasov, Director, “Helvetia – Sibir” Cultural and Business Centre, Anton Milto, Deputy Director, KOTES Ltd and Evgeny Votchinikov, General Director, CJC Mayak and JSC F1 also participated.
The Switzerland-Siberia Forum that took place at Steigenberger Hotel, Zurich on May 15, featured presentations by members of the delegation who informed the audience of Swiss companies about leading sectors of opportunity in Novosibirsk and Tomsk Region. As part of the program, the delegation visited Zurich Technopark, Ministry of Economy and Labor of Canton Zurich where they were welcome by Minister Bruno Satuer, and three companies – Stadler Rail AG, Mageba and Pöyry AG.
The visit to Switzerland will be followed by a mission in September 2014 organized by JCC and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation to Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo.
