JCC Legal & Tax Chapter Lunch on Exporting to Russia
JCC held its second Legal & Tax Chapter Lunch Seminar of the year on October 31, 2017 at Sberbank (Switzerland) AG. The lunch was for representatives of companies exporting to Russia or interested to learn more about effective dispute settlement from those in the front lines. The issues surrounding the 2013 deal involving the purchase of doubledecker trains by the Moscow railway operator Aeroexpress from Stadler Rail, arose due to the economic crisis in Russia. Settling the case successfully required top negotiation skills, finesse and excellent planning.
Matthias Stoehr, Stadler Rail and Raphael Steiner, AIL Structured Finance, who were closely involved in the deal and ensuing issues, discussed their experience and the overall positive outcome. Alexander Yudovich and Anina Petrovskaya, Lennert Partners AG rounded up with legal and tax issues surrounding export and dispute settlement.
