JCC Legal & Tax Chapter on Implications of Sanctions for Business
JCC's Legal and Tax Chapter held an Afterwork Roundtable "Update on Russian Sanctions: Implications for Swiss and EU Companies" on December 2, 2019 at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Geneva (CCIG). Dorit Sallis, Managing Director, JCC and Laurence Ponty, Chairperson, JCC Legal and Tax Chapter and Partner, Archipel made statements of welcome.
This was followed by presentations by an excellent panel of speakers: Fedor Poskriakov, Partner, Lenz & Staehelin, Iurie Moraru, Vice President, JCC; Executive Director, Falcon Private Bank Ltd, Dr Maria Shagina, CEES Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Eastern European Studies, University of Zurich and Jason Hungerford, Partner, Mayer Brown.
Panelists shared their practical experience and analysis of the impact of sanctions on businesses, particularly in Switzerland and the EU. They offered insight into the impact of US sanctions, Russia’s response to Western sanctions, the adaptation mechanisms put into place and specific compliance matters in the banking sector and other related issues.
