JCC organizes Kazakhstan-Switzerland Forum in Berne...
On October 22, 2014 the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland--CIS/Georgia (JCC) and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Switzerland organized the Kazakhstan-Switzerland Business Forum on the subject of "Eurasian Integration and Investment Climate in Kazakhstan". The forum, which took place at Casino Restaurant Berne and was ably moderated by JCC Vice President Anne Bauty, brought together high-ranking representatives of the Government of Kazakhstan and Swiss companies successfully doing business in the country.
HE Ambassador Mukhtar Tileuberdi opened the event with a statement on Swiss-Kazakh bilateral activities and recent regulatory changes that further strengthens Kazakhstan's attractiveness as a business destination. HE Deputy Minister Samat Ordabayev, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and provided an in-depth analysis of the Eurasian Economic Union and implications for doing business with Kazakhstan. Aidyn Karimov, Director, Department of International Economic Integration, Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan provided a detailed examination of the investment climate and new regulatory environment in Kazakhstan that is favorable to foreign companies. Xenia Deikova, PwC corroborated this with her view that Kazakhstan's tax regime is the most favorable in the CIS region. Three Swiss companies in infrastructure, machine-building and renewable energy illustrated the implementation of different models of doing business in Kazakhstan. For Zurich Airport, the aim is to engage in know-how transfer in the building up and operating of six airports in Kazakhstan. Bürkchard Compression sells machinery in the country through its sales office in Russia. While ABB has invested locally in its own design capabilities for renewable energy projects according to Kazakh standards.
