Ukraine's business environment focus of JCC roundtable
JCC's Update Ukraine Roundtable: Business Environment and Sectors of Opportunity for Swiss Companies took place at Zunfthaus zur Schmiden, Zurich on June 14, 2016. The event, co-organized with the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, welcomed Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mr. Taras Kutovyi and Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mr. Max Nefyodov. Ambassador Guillaume Scheurer of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine opened the proceedings. Ambassador Heinz Kaufmann, Swiss Representative at EBRD described the Banks projects in Ukraine.
The program included presentations on the legal and Investment climate by Dr. Irina Paliashvili, President and Senior Counsel, RULG - Ukrainian Legal Group, Timothy Ash, Head of Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Credit Strategy, Nomura International and Kateryna Soroka, CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz. Three Swiss companies operating in Ukraine shared their experiences of doing business in a challenging environment. Christoph Burgermeister, Business Development, Vetropack Gostomel, Gebhard Rogenhofer, CEO, Syngenta TOV and Peter Reznichenko, Director, Synergia SE agreed that despite the obstacles the program of reform undertaken by the government and the resource-rich country made it a worthwhile investment destination.
